When we arrived at Mactan-Cebu Airport to check in for our flight, we were told our flight was canceled. Dammit, what does it freaking take to visit this place?! We eventually made it there the following day and realized it was all worth it! Here are 20 photos to inspire you to visit El Nido in Palawan, Philippines.

  1. Gorgeous! I’ve heard great things about the Phillipines and El Nido in particular, but these pictures have me totally convinced. I need to get there soon! Thanks for sharing

  2. Love the clarity of the water in the Philippines. When we were diving in Thailand, the vis was not “amazing” and all the staff said we had to try the Philippines. I was just on the beach a week ago getting ready to take my advanced open water class and we called it do to low vis. Such is diving in San Diego.

  3. Your photos are gorgeous and now I’ve got a deep case of wanderlust! It seems like a great place to explore and enjoy the view! The diving I may have to pass. I keep seeing photos and videos of diving, and every time it always scares me!

    Also love your video (:

  4. Your pictures brought back so many found memories we had in El Nido! Hubby and I actually went there for our honeymoon. Like you said, it is not easy to get to, but absolutely worth it! I would go back in a heartbeat!

  5. When I read through here I know that I failed miserably in reaching Busuanga, but not making the hop over to El Nido! The picturesque beauty is timeless over there on there on the little gorgeous isle. The twin beaches leave me breathless and I loved the video too Ivy!

  6. Philippines is just next to Malaysia but I still haven’t been there as the logistics are known to be quite a nightmare. But you pictures are giving me 2nd thoughts and might look into planning a holiday there again soon.

  7. You have sold me, definitely on my list of places to go! Love the video and I love that song too! I used it for another slideshow I made for my cousin 🙂

  8. With scenery as beautiful as that, you had to get there! Even if all I did was sit in that hammock in my room, I would be happy. Glad things finally turned around for you for this amazing trip:)

  9. It really does sound like fate wanted to stop you El Nido but good on your for remaining persistent. And certainly, looking at your photos, it really does seem as though it was all worth while. The underwater shot in particular is incredible but really, you can’t beat a beautiful Palawan sunset

  10. The place looks lovely and worth the wait in the end! I love all those little boats from the vantage point. excellent photo journal.

  11. We have heard a lot about El Nido and every blog and picture we have ever seen has only inspired us to make a trip to this slice of paradise very soon. These pictures of azure waters, kayaking in the perpetual waters and the resorts hidden amidst the verdant nature are awe-inspiring.

  12. This place looks like an absolute dream! I would LOVE to have breakfast with a view over Corong Corong Bay. And the view from Taraw Peak looks incredible. The turquoise blue water looks incredible inviting – the perfect paradise. El Nido is totally going on my bucket list!

  13. Philippines has so many gorgeous beaches. Palawan is one of those with plenty to choose from. I’ve heard about many islands in the Philippines but El Nido is on top of my bucket list. These photos excite me and make me want to go so bad!

  14. Philipines, I think is the next big destination in South East Asia. It is under rated, under promoted and a well kept secret. I am glad bloggers like you are writing about it.

  15. Holy crap your photos never cease to amaze me Ivy!!!!! Actually, scratch that, the number of vacation days you get shocks me more every time I see you heading off to gorgeous places like these. BTW, couldn’t help but stare at your tattoo! I really wanna get one and maybe one of a treble clef but most of the designs I’ve seen are so… basic lol. Love yours though! Did you get it done here in Van?

    • HAI JAS! Hehe thanks, I drew what I wanted and took it to a 師傅 called 大毛 in Taiwan. I had 2 others done here in Vancouver but I like what the Taiwanese dude did a lot better… plus it was a lot cheaper lol

  16. Going to El Nido in September.
Been to the Philippines before to Puerto Galera.

When I started watching videos about Island Hopping in El Nido and showed my mate, he said there’s no place in the world like it.

You’ve just made my day as I was taken amazed by the breathtakingly background music which I didnt know of and then last night found out it was Ocean by Mike Perry featuring Shy Martin.

Philippines my favourite country in the world. 🌴😊🌴
